I short tutorial on the 13th chord.
Dave Friedman Plays Body and Soul Duo with Peter Weniger.
(This is just vibes and Sax - Check out the approach! It's Beautiful. - Tony Miceli)
In a lot of my tunes lately, I have been using mallet 4 for the melody, which is not the normal stick for the Miceli grip, which I use. I have been doing a lot of 3 note chords/arpeggios with mallets 1,2,3. This is another example of me using mallet 4 for the melody (I think I am playing it a little too fast).
I referenced Tony's intro to his grip in the "Check This Out", above. He talks about how different grips lead towards different styles of playing.

Here's another lick to check out. This one has several variations and you should get a lot out of it! Practice this through all the keys!
I was just playing some blues tonight and recorded it and thought I'd post this just for fun.
Hope you like it!

Here is a little piece of music(see attachment) from a theater show I'm doing n Januari. This is a short introuction to the third part of the show. I thought this would be a good exercise for sticking.
A lot of guys are always asking: "What sticking should I use?" The thing with sticking is that you can always do it in a lot of ways.
Hey Tony,
I feel good about the time and the head. I feel good about some of my lines in the soloing but I'd definitely like to work more on the solo accompaniement techniques next time we meet up. I recorded it a number of different times at different speeds and I think this is the tempo that it was the most "comfortable" at while listening back. I'd love to hear some suggestions to make it better!

READ THIS BEFORE PLAYING THE AUDIO:
I dedicate this to Tony because I think this is probably what Christmas Music sounds like inside his head after hundreds of gigs playing it (static); I dedicate it to Nico because he's a cool guy and it goes along with his recent post on resonators and Barry because he's an experimenter, and like me, he can't help it.
Hey Tony,
I have a few of different version of Green Dolphin Street ready to go. I might try to record it one more time tomorrow and then post it. Talk to you soon!
