QDV stands for quick and dirty video. That usually means I'm swamped but I'm trying to get a lesson up!!!
Here it is and it's on dampening. Just some general ideas. As I mention I don't even think about dampening at all. So I must have it tied in with some part of my playing, most likely the lines. But you'll see as you watch. The main screen is the pedal and my feet.
Hello Everyone,
The tune for this week will be Woody n You. Maybe it would be nice if we would try to do a version in a latin feel.
For those of you who are able to, try to make a duet yourself. So record one part and then add a second part all on your own.
I can also make a play along version, but let's first all study the tune a little and if someone needs help or wants a play along, I can make one during the week, ok?
Hope you guys will join in!
TJ
P.S. At the moment I'm doing these
So I just bought a cool new recorder that plugs right into my iPhone and the quality is really awesome. It is called the Belkin TuneTalk Stereo. It cost me about $70. I thought I would turn it on and play a tune that my lessons teacher has me working on. This is my attempt at playing Giant Steps as a bossa. I am also trying to do it from memory, so sometimes my memory fails me.
Any suggestion or tips on how to weave through the changes better would be nice. Also any tips in general are greatly appreciated.
Amazing. Everyone on this site needs a copy in my opinion.

Originally scheduled for release next Tuesday, this was apparently release a couple weeks ago. It is Bobby Hutcherson with his regular working band recording tunes written by or associated with John Coltrane. The session was done direct to two track.
Oh jeez!!
Sorry Ed, I can't wait for you to feel like posting this new vid: it's truly amazing!
That version of the tune is incredible! Awesome! I love it... Words are missing. It's so far from the original, and yet so close! Wow!
Enjoy guys!

Here's another clip from the same concert that my previous post "Pure Spirit" was taken from.
The lineup is Dave Liebman - tenor, Matt Wilson - drums, David Clark - bass and me on vibes. We're performing an original of mine called The Healing. The concert took place on February 2nd, 09 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.
The Healing lead sheet can be downloaded from my website here: http://www.edsaindon.com/originalcompositions.htm
Spain is one of my all-time favorite Chick Corea tunes. So many of his pieces have this great energy and beautiful melodies. My recording (done about 10 or 12 years ago) had a boring intro that's been removed for this post. Please pardon my less than perfect editing!
If someone would like the piano accompaniment to practice with let me know and I'll upload it.
Hi Tony,
This isn't quite directly vibes, but is there any chance we can get a lesson on the equipment/software you use to produce videos? You've really upgraded your capabilities since the "quick and dirty" days, so I'm looking for how you handle the multiple cameras, good sound, and syncing up the sound with the video. No need for details like "click this menu", but stuff like what kind of cameras, what records the sound, what software package mixes everything together, are there any lighting problems that have to be taken care of, etc.
Thanks,
Tom P.
