Totalmente, es tan caracteristico que escuchas unos segundos y ya decís es Pat.
También me pasa cuando estoy escuchando a algún artista muy influenciado por él, digo "eso es de Pat" jaja.

Thanks for sharing, Tony. The stuff about melody was very interesting to me. I also loved Pat's line that most of the people who will check out what you're doing haven't been born yet. Good perspective!

Yes this is very interesting to me. The thing about melody. Do you know who Ralph Moore is? He just plays amazing melodies. And I always say to myself, that’s what I want to be when I grow up. Devices and systems are cool, but I don’t think they lead to this.

Nothing but desire leads a musician to successfully making melodies (my opinion). That desire may require some people to seek out and explore systems and devices such as scales, exercises or licks to gain the skills and ears to play the melodies they are seeking out but if the end goal isn't to play those melodies that are all floating around, then no magic in the world is going to bring them out of your instrument. We all need different things because we all have different talents in various areas. Some people have perfect pitch while others have to develop a keen sense of relative pitch. Some people are very physically coordinated and doing physically difficult things come easier while others may have this extraordinary intellect that makes harmony and calculations easy. Some people have the incredible sense of time and rhythm while other must practice with a device like a metronome. Everyone eventually has to find but if melody isn't part of the goal, melody won't occur. FYI: I'm enjoying the heck out of listening to Mr. Moore as I write.
