It was great to play Eddie Green's music again. He was a great mentor for me. We spent many mornings between 7:00 and 8:00 AM shedding tunes and arrangements before I would go into my day gig but after my kids left for school. That was our practice time together at least once a week, sometimes twice for several years.
Eddie was old-school. He taught me the value of keeping on task no matter what tried to get in the way.
