Hi Marie,

It was truly a great moment, with a great deal of emphasis on "scary". :-))

The vibraphone part is totally improvised. The only thing notated on my part are important instrument cues and, in certain sections, very subjectively interpreted key centers and occasionally some rhythmic ideas I wrote in myself. Originally, the composer gave me a longer part with certain harmonic suggestions, modes, etc, along with certain lines I could double with certain instruments-or not. The more I listened to the midi file I was given to practice with, I decided to depend on my ear and my own musical instincts, in terms of what to play and when not to play. Admittedly, risky business, but it seemed to work best for me. So, although there are sections that sound similar each time the piece is performed, it ultimately sounds different with each performance.
