Understanding and/or Teaching Keys and Key Relationships
Here's something I'm posting that I think helps students to understand how different keys relate to each other (modes, major keys, relative minor etc). It also helps teachers when teaching it.

Marie-Noëlle doesn't play the vibes but she loves them as much as I think the rest of us do! She's joined our ranks inside the school and I'm sure will have a lot to say. She's pretty active over at thevibe.net a popular vibe site.
All the vibe players love Marie. When Joe Locke hit's Paris he's sure to meet up and say hello to Marie. She's a great person and a great fan of the vibraphone. And I welcome her to the inner core of the school!
I'd like to see more participation by members too. It's so fun to bring a society of vibraphonists together. I live in Texas and I don't travel much anymore so I don't see a lot of vibe players (though there are some very good ones here) but none of my neighbors and most of my friends don't even know what it is or how to pronounce it. I'm sure that many reading this are in that same dilemma. Keep in mind that it's very healthy for each of us to have some socializing with people who understand the value of the art and support each other during the struggle.
Unbelievable! His hands, the rolls. He's incredible. I'm moving to Thailand. Later!
This is funny. I recorded this when I first got Logic. The rain, applause and the thunder are samples, yes and the Dog barking and the birds. I wanted it to sound like i was in a cabin outdoors!
And that great upright sound is a sample and I'm playing keyboard.
It's pretty funny and I thought you guys would get a kick out of it!
This is a pretty hard etude. At the time of writing this, I just stumbled on it. I had forgotten all about it. So I'll need to check it out again. I remember it though. It was for a students who was studying the blues.
I can easily post the midi file so you can get an idea, and then maybe myself or PATTY will learn it and we'll video it and put it up!
I don't have sticking on it yet. Just thought I'd post it for the advanced guys.
This is a really hard etude as I remember. I just stumbled on it.
Here's a quick version of the Vince Guaraldi tune.
**It's NOT the vibe version.** I just played it all in Logic from a keyboard. The vibe version is coming. It's NOT the etude but you can hear the tune. I'm not a monster keyboard player, but it works.
Remember no REAL vibes on this track. But I love the vibe sound in Reason!
Oh I JUST REMEMBERED. I played the vibe part in with the MALLET KAT.
The etude is in the etude section of the vibe book.
Barryk asked me to talk about how I composed the Vince Guaraldi piece.
Well, I'm not a 'real' composer, so I'm not experienced in developing themes and other techniques that a real composer would use. But I have written a few pieces and arranged a bunch of things.
This is a multi part lesson. In here is also a lesson plan with all the parts together.
