Hello All,
I wanted to post to say hello to everyone on that subscribes to this site. Quite frankly this is possible the coolest website I have ever come across. A sense of community is present and the information exchange is awesome. Above all, we can all help each other to become better players and teachers. I am happy there is a place for vibists to hang or just check out others work.
All the Best to you and yours,
Timothy
I recorded this cut in 2006 at the University of Tennessee during my recital for the Master's of Music degree. Featuring Justin Haynes (p), Josh Marcum (b), Deric Dickens (d) Tracy Ozier (v) and Yours Truly (vib). I got the idea for this arrangement while listening to Milt Jackson and Ray Brown's Much In Common.

Ed talks about four note groupings, great for your lines.
Oh man this is sooo cool! I can't resist!
For those who were in Sassenheim (and those were not too!), here is an excerpt from a CD just about to be released, of a cool reggae group of young musicians from Berlin. And among them is our dear little Charly on vibes!!!
I love this music, clean, well written, with a powerful singer, and where the vibes found his place... very cleverly!
Go Charly!... And we want to hear more very soon!!
:o)

PS: how many degres in the recording room? ;o)
Here's a great video from a new site we'll be launching very soon. It's over at www.worlddrum.studymusiconline.com. Todd Isler is the instructor, he's a great percussionist and drummer.
He has a book out in our store called 'You Can Ta Ka Di Mi This'. The book is here: www.store.studymusiconline.com/you-can-ta-ka-di-mi-improve-and-expand-y…
Here's a great video on the book by Todd.
Here I go over how to use Cells within a melodic lick or idea.
Please ask questions!
Here is part 2 of the intro to cells.
I explore using cells over an upper extension triad.
In this example I use a dominant 7th chord with a maj triad built off the 6th.
Please ask questions!
Hi All,
Poking around here as I've been working on the Vibesworkshop on Roku app, I discovered an interesting statistic -- as of this morning (2010-May-17), there have been 658 videos posted here. By access level there are:
Jeesh! What a resource!
