I recently purchased a Ludwig and Ludwig vibraphone. IT has three octaves, wood frame, non-graduated bars(there all the same size) and a motor. Little is know about this particular brand. We have tried researching, but came across nothing. If anyone know's anything about this brand, please speak up! We know it was made before 1966 because that is when ludwig and ludwig stopped production. There is a badge/logo on the front that reads
Ludwig & Ludwig
Made in the USA
Elkheart, indiana

There is also a stamp on the low f that reads
ludwig and luwdig
made in the usa

and a model numebr 8-122

if anyone has any information on this, please help

Drslg, of what importance do you need to know about this particular instrument? How long have you been playing vibes and how many vibes have you purchased to date? Ludwig has always made good instruments. Is there anything wrong with these vibes? Are the bars all in good tune?
The motor functioning?

Keep in touch because I live in East Hanover (not too far from you) and can give you some info.

Angelo.

sorry i took so long to reply.
i guess i never got to it but 1 year later i felt that it was necessary to answer this. This instrument is in great shape and it is my first vibraphone. I have been playing for a little over 2 years. The bars are in good tuning. Nothing is really wrong. I really would like to know how much this is worth
