Gary Burton is giving a huge contribution to the site. You should find everything about him in those sections: awesome stories, great photos, thoughts and discussions, lessons and tributes from us fans. Enjoy! :o)
Here’s my take on ed’s tune “lifes blessing”
In my mind this piece has so many beautiful sections I really ended up mixing up sections to give me what I was going for – which was more of a “church” feeling – looping for example a line cliche idea that turns around using the C/G – D/F# cadence of mm14-15 for a solo/vamp section.
I also liked extending and looping mm 26 – 27 idea to give the ends more push, throwing a Ab maj7#11 substitute for the A-/G on the last times.
Birthday Cake
We all wish David Friedman a happy birthday.
I know I'm honored to have him here at vibesworkshop.com! What an honor for all of us to be able to chat and learn from him. He has been so kind to offer his time and energy and knowledge here.
Thank you so much David! Happy Birthday - (Tony Miceli)
