Here's me trying to delve into Mike's world with cell structures and all the rest. The sounds are different for me as well as the approach. It was interesting because things would happen and I would think sounded bad and Mike really dug it. I don't play like this too often and musical taste is definitely acquired.
I thought it would be interested to post this to see a pretty mainstream player trying to play this way!
Mike Pinto came over to hang out and play. Here he is playing over Chick's Children Song #2.
i'm playing with a pianist in a few weeks. i've heard some vibes and piano duo recordings, but i'm wondering what everyone else has to say. also if there's any tips on playing with a pianist that anyone has that'd be greeat too.
thanks!
I never saw a Kosth before. They're japanese? Anyone have any info?
Guys,
I found this video today, searching for some tunes played by our new slovenian member Vid Jamnik.
This piece is so beautiful, and beautifully played by all!!
Still I would be surprised if this would have been really taken just one year ago: a recent interview of Vid shows a much older guy... or he just grown up very fast in one year!! Who knows...
Vid? Are you around? Can you comment?
Enjoy guys,
Marie
PS: long vid... long loading... be patient!
From those of you who were on thevibe.net a few years ago, you might remember Vid Jamnik, this kid hardly 13 years old from Slovenia playing vibes so well, and his father by his side...
Well, "little Vid" is now 16. And he just joined the site.
Vid, now tell us all: who are you? (and where have you been all those years!)

Here's a quick and dirty cop this groove. I'm just trying out a new inexpensive camera and I wanted to shoot something quick and I had a 'Cop This Groove' lesson in mind. So I just did a quick recording. Very imperfect but the groove is still there. So cop it!!
"Not so often that we hear you!"
Hi Marie-Noelle,
voila, here is another one!
Best,
wuestentrommler
this is my version of tonys cherokee etude. i spent a lot of time on this but unfortunatley i couldn´t do one take (and marie did forbid me to cheat and to cut 2 or 3 versions together!) without mistakes. this is the best one take i could find...with video proof :)
normally i should spent more time on this to get rid of the mistakes now but after recording many versions i´m tiered of this song and give up with this one.
