N-634 by Israel Arranz

Hi guys!!

That´s a tune of mine called "N-634" (it´s the name of one of most important roads of the north of Spain). It has been recorded by Paraphernalia Cuarteto, an acoustic quartet whose I belong. We will present the CD the last week of February, and, obviously, I would like to share with all you. I hope you like and write your impressions about that. Have you a good day guys.

Israel Arranz (vibes)
Fernando Varela (guitar)
Pablo Pérez (double bass)
Fernando Lamas (drums)

Scrapple

Had never heard this little gem. Tough for me to play. Ver 1 plays the 4 chords of the bridge as closed as possible. Want to compare to opening them up per Tony's suggestions.
Also, added a good external microphone to my Audacity recording setup. Seems to bring a good improvement in sound quality.

This post is in response to Tony's plea for members to post more. So if you don't like it, blame Tony.

TOTM - Foot Prints Improv Etude by Tony Miceli - This is a hard one

Here's an etude on footprints. I came from an improv I recently on the mallet kat. Check out the some of the harmony shifts. Sort of substitutions I guess. I displaced things, messed with the time.

I give myself goals of walking up to an instrument and doing something. One shot. Of course if it sucked I wouldn't have turned it into an etude. I think this one is cool. I think it's a really study in voicings and lines and manipulated the modes of the tune.
