Just a reminder not to spend an inordinate amount of time on technique, and to think of musical ways to practice technique. After all the goal is to make music. That should be part of your practice routine! There are ways to incorporate technical practice in a musical way!

Apart from this tribute (Hankock and Franklin wow!) and the joy of the man round the end of his life, what I enjoyed is this visual biography (I had not seen any before) and the emphasis on those first examples of music at last shared between black and white communities of musicians: cool!

this was recorded almost a year ago, well before i joined vibesworkshop. i'm just posting to join the party.
This was recorded shortly before i joined vibesworkshop. i should post another version to show how far i have progressed but, right now i just want to post anything just to get my feet wet. this is a pretty rough version. i forgot the changes twice, but i stumbled thru... anyway, enjoy.
I've been pretty curious as to why there are never any discussions about Stefon Harris on this site. Does no one dig him? In my opinion he is one of the heaviest vibe players alive (if not the heaviest). If you guys don't listen to him you really should start! Check out the stuff he is doing in his solos. Seems like he is taking it to the next level.
