Hey,
some of you may not know that I composed MUSIC for VIBRAPHONE & ORCHESTRA (beside my jazz works) as well as CHAMBER MUSIC with VIBRAPHONE...
For more infos please have a look at MY WEBSITE !!! (Please be a little patient while the site first time builds up - there are many audio files etc. on it...)
Thanks

I just purchased a very nice M75 from a guy in town. I tried it out with and without dampening and it sounded great.
So we break it down, and I drive it home, and assemble it back together.
The dampening on the lower octave is poor, no dampening; the higher register is OK and so far no issues.
I've fiddled with the dampening controls and took out the bars, placed them back in, along with the frame pieces. At least 3 times. Still the dampening is almost non existent on the lower register.
ok .. im shamlessly subjective all my vw friends here to my new records that are coming .
This is the title cut called Jackson, composed by yours truely .. all of the mackay project material for this record is original and four mallet work unlike the jazz standards cd which is two mallet work
Hey all, this is the 1st mix of my new jazz standards cd. This cd is focused on two mallet work rather than four mallets. i really wanted to pay hommage the masters that influenced all of us .. milt especially ... hope you dig the recording .. The sax player on this cut is a friend of mine that played in Louie prima's band from 52 to 54. Bud is 84 years old and had never been recorded .. so im blessed to have him on this recording.
Our next TOTM. Cool changes on this tune!
Here is my take, I'm not so happy with measures 8-10.
Thanks already for feedback.
Greetings,
Stefan
I will soon be purchasing a 6-year old, barely used, mint condition Musser M75, from a local student. Yes I know it's probably not the best for gigging with, and traveling with, but it was pretty inexpensive, and the seller is really only about 15 or so miles from where I live (South Texas). I think the price is what got me to buy it. I wanted a Deagan or Yamaha either used or new, but I would be putting out several more thousand dollars. Oh, I am starting up playing again after not playing for over 20 years. Yes, old dogs can relearn old tricks.
Ok... so the saga continues. For the last week or so, I have been using my modified damper bar that I rebuilt for my M48 on my newly aquired 1949 vintage M75 just because I prefer the way it plays and sounds to the standard Musser damper bar.
