I have just taken delivery of a 3.2 octave Vanderplas GigVibe - and a beautiful thing it is too. I am trying to work out the best way of protecting it when I move it out of my studio to gigs etc. I originally ordered a 3 octave one but have ended up with this larger instrument so I have to dismantle it to get it through doorways. Moving it in one piece is not an option. It also has pickups on each bar which plug in externally to the frame. I have toyed with the idea of moving the keybed with bars attached but this makes it VERY heavy.

Hey guys, video footage from the Berklee Percussion Festival concert on 6/18/13 has been uploaded to YouTube. The concert featured original compositions from members of the band. Personnel: Matt Marvuglio - flute, Marco Pignataro - tenor, soprano sax, David Clark - upright bass, Ron Savage - drums and Ed Saindon - vibes. To make a long story short, I am couch-crashing this month and no longer have unlimited vibraphone access. I've gotten used to just walking over and playing any time, so this is quite an unwelcome change. Now I go to the nearby university to practice, so my hours are limited :(

I hope some of you were able to tune in to the last Good Vibes on July 7th and 10th.
Time to gear up for August's broadcasts, on the 4th and 7th. Two vibes players make their debuts on Good Vibes in August, Micah Rutschman and Smith Dobson. I continue to play tracks from Behn's latest, Top Shelf, and Bobby Hutcherson's CD Linger Lane. This month I introduce Tony's new CD Can't Find My Way Home with the title track. I wish I had a weekly show just for that one!
