Hey Vibesworkshop,
This semester I have been focusing on the different modes of the melodic minor scales. I personally have been spending a lot of time on the fourth mode, the Lydian Dominant scale.
-----------------------------------------------
Just a quick refresher...
Lydian Dominant Construction:
1 2 3 #11 5 6 b7 1
(C D E F# G A Bb C)
this is a tune from my book Vibraphone Virtuosity Series Intermediate Progressive Etudes published by Hal Leonard
hey, this is a very easy and short etude i wrote for my drum kids...i got two 10 and 11 years old boys, who have no vibraphone at home who can play it fairly well now just by doing it every week in the lesson.
feel free to use it if you like!

I learn so much watching tutos by Tony, Behn, Dave and other jazz players whatever the instrument they play.
My turn to be helpful. ( hoping )
Few suggestions of how I handle fast blues.
One of my favorite ballads, fashioned after a Dexter Gordan recordings of the song. This was a rehearsal for an upcoming performance featuring this vibes solo.
Prepare your ears =)
#pera my new cd will be released the 16th of April at the Green Note Club.
Thanks to all the friends and musicians that believe in my new project!!
Giovanni Perin: vibes
Tommaso Troncon: sax
DIma Bondarev: trumpet
Tino Derado: piano
Diego Pinera: drums
Marcel Kromker: bass
I am working on converting my vibes into a MIDI controller. So far I wired up 8 Piezo pickups (white notes from B to B) for a proof of concept. My motivation is to be able to notate things that I play (e.g., transcriptions). As a side-effect, I can also layer other sounds on top of the vibes, e.g., strings.
My take on a timeless jam session anthem.
