Since posting this ad below, I have learned the pedal works but only thanks to duct tape ANd that the cover is not an original but that it was always "kept covered."

Please let me know soon if you are interested, as we keep getting low-ball offers AND we have some better options for shipping now than when ad first posted. We are 2000 miles from location right now, so addl pics not so easy due to techno-challenged relatives.
