im defiantely looking for a pickup system for my yamaha 2600.. does anyone out there know of a used set of ayotte or KnK systems.

Nico has a good point to make, and I'd ask him to correct me if I'm wrong about this. With a used set, all that you can initially depend on are the rails; chances are you would have to buy the actual glue-on pickups new. So that would be $20 per pickup times 37 bars. Be sure to include that in your price calculation. I would also add to double-check the length of the frame compared to the length of the rails.

I am really impressed with the way that Steve Shapiro has figured it out using clip on mics suspended under his instrument. One advantage with Steve's system is that you will have the option of using the motor if you have one on your instrument.

id love to get a new set of pickups .. but its the price that is killin me. hense why the inquiry of any used or refurbished systems.

i like steves shapiro's idea. in the early 90's i experimented with the same idea but had soo much fram noise from my musser 48 that thru the system is was like a rattle vibraphone.

re: the motor .. i noticed that most guys that use the pick ups . remount the motor control to the end of the axe.
