I was going through some old finale files and came across some charts i did for a recording project in 1999 called "April Sessions"
This session is special to me because the pianist on this record, Bobby Peterson, was a local treasure - a brilliant player who spent time in Buddy Riches band and then made the Twin Cities his home - and performed here regularly. Sadly we lost him July 8, 2002 at the age of 52 to a heart condition - (he was packing up after a gig when we lost him).

I studied with Bobby and performed several shows with him - and did a few recordings. You just knew you were around greatness when he was in the room.

So it's the deep winter here where i live, and i thought i'd put up my arrangement and mp3 of "The Summer Knows" , by michel legrand, (his piece was used in the movie Summer of '42). Use it with your band etc....

i feel warm already

enjoy

This was a magnificent statement on the vibes Steve. Just beautifully done and your pianist was superb.

AND, the motor always adds that sublety, that lilting flavor to a beautiful ballad.

BruceW :-)

I like it, really nice!
And I like your approach on music... not only the way you play, but the way you insert music in life...
But this, you had understood it! :o)

Very tasteful...the sound of both instruments are fanstastic and really merge.
