Hello!

I finally got myself a vibraphone and I might take the advantage of the 'Subscriber' status but I need to know if I will get the following lessons/instructions in the 'Vibes Lessons and Technique section':

- The very basic info on sticking: Given a Major scale I need to know what sticking order I need to use. Left-right-left-right... or maybe there are some tips and tricks I'm nor aware of?

- The same with arpeggios and other melodic structures - are all tips and tricks there?

- Pedalling - exactly why/when and how to pedal to get the most out of the instrument.

- Application of the vibe to major Jazz situations: comping, soloing, solo playing.

Regarding the contents (provided what I request is right there): Are all lessong in video/sheet music format or what? Please give me a short description.

Hi there, and welcome!

Although I know less about the material available to subscribers than others here, I can assure you a few things:

- There are plenty of stickings for scales, and it all depends on what you find most comfortable. In fact, I may post about this soon, because my teacher goes about this a different way than others I've seen. As far as I am aware, you will find sufficient information for that here.

- There is definitely plenty of information on pedaling, and some players even post their recordings of the Dampening and Pedaling études by David Friedman. Afterwards, David Friedman himself has the habit of offering his advice and criticisms! We are truly blessed.

- In terms of application to jazz... that is the bulk of what compromises this website. There is already plenty of years (if not lifetimes, honestly) of work that could be done on the lessons for jazz exercises posted here.

- There are lessons in video, audio, and pdf format.

- Finally, and perhaps most importantly, if there is anything that you cannot find here, YOU CAN ALWAYS POST YOUR OWN QUESTIONS. Please excuse the capitalization, but I can't emphasize that enough. Everyone here is more than happy to respond to your questions. That's why we're here. Just a bunch of vibes lovers!

Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Mackenzie

Thank you Mackenzie. Sounds good.
Anyone else to comment please?

By the way, how much is current subscription for 1 month?

Oh, one more question! So you say, there is a plenty of stuff for basics on the site for subscribers. Do you think I can get away well enough only with the stuff available on the site or do I need to get some classic book on basics, maybe Goldenberg?

s-vibes,

there is a ton of stuff here. however you will have to search. the 2 places are in recent activity and V-books. both of these are in the menu at the top of the page.

there are over 1000 lessons here. so there's plenty of stuff. but you will have to look around a little.

the subscriptions are 9.99 for students. you'll see when you sign up the other options.

it's a great community!!!!
