Here's a very important exercise to help with chord voicings. Don't skimp on this one. Spend months on this!!

原位F,A,C,E.
第一轉位A,C,E,F, 然後只把C這個音移到高八度,得到A,E,F,C和弦。

(Root)

Hi Tony,

those exercises are very helpful for my hands and my brain but one thing puzzles me: for exemple in exercise A, first chord in the 2nd bar, there is a b2 intervall in the right hand. Wouldn't it be better, to play a D instead of an E to avoid that? Also in bar 4, 2nd chord, there is a b9 between the highest and the lowest voice. Again, wouldn't it be better to replace the E by a D?
Practicing the rootless chords, the b9 intervall appears from time to time. What do you suggest to do then?

Thanxalot,
W.

there will be voicings you don't like. the point of the exercise is to just move the voicings around and find stuff. so don't worry about the weird voicings.

LIKE the last one! E A C F right? that's a funny one, however it's not as uncommon as you think. and some of the voicings you'll learn to like.

but again this isn't an exercise of smooth voicings, it's an exercise on moving voicings around. so i think you should do it strict for now.

you think so?

makes it clear. It's great to have somebody to ask for help when you're alone in the desert!

for me this was the foundation of my chord practicing. i've used this concept for 30 years now!
