Here's Behn's chord melody of Bye Bye Blackbird. The videos are coming, but meanwhile practice his chord melody.
Again I left the chord symbols out, you can put them in. That's your homework assignment. :-)
This is a great lesson. Just go through all the tunes you know see where you can put this. Pull out the real book, whatever!
Also check out Behn's comping. He plays really clear rhythms IMHO.

This is the official announcement of the University of Delaware Workshop with David Friedman and myself.
Listen to this. I've given examples before. This works perfectly on the vibes. Can you imagine playing a jazz ballad with this 'style' of playing?
There's so much to learn from Bach. He's figured it all out. So maybe the vibes are not like the guitar or the piano, they're like the violin!!!! :-)
The pdf's for this lesson are under the 'Check This Out Section'.

Here's a lesson from a while back. I didn't dig it so I never posted. I didn't think I really did a good job Illustrating it. Maybe it's not so bad, but I think the idea is important.
It's about role playing, thinking like you're a different instrument. I think putting your brain in a different point of reference can really help your playing.
Let me know what you think.
