Tony Miceli is an impostor – By M. the Inquisitor

Guys,

Oh man. This is terrible... I just got a message from the awful "M. the Inquisitor". She is back! She urged me to post this message for you guys… I'm terrified… So here it is:

______________________

Now wait people!!

You think Tony Miceli is a great master and composer, right? You are all in total awe of his new tune "Prelude for a Rock Star"… But you don't know the truth…

The truth is Tony Miceli is an impostor, who has been trying to fool you all since ever!

Go practice!!!

Guys,

As you know Tony is out for the week end... But it doesn't mean it's holidays!

So what are you doing here reading this stupid message: go and check all the lessons, posts, vids, audios, get back to your mallets and go practice!!

The boss will be back soon, expecting tons of posts and comments around!! And by the way, I'm watching over you!! So mind your steps!!

;o)

Me and my gongs

SO, I threatened to bring my gongs to the last vibe hang, but unfortunately I couldn't make the date because I was out of town. I will certainly make the next one if I am around.

However, since that time, I have spent a few more hours over at Steve Weiss's place and located another half octave (well, actually, I also found a low D that is super pretty sounding so I went back and got that as well). I am still waiting for the parts for the racks to arrive, but as you will see in the attached photo, some cymbal stands, mic stands and a timbale stand add up to new notes!

Milt Jackson and ornamentation

So, this was the scene. The old Hershey Hotel in downtown Philly. Milt Jackson was playing there with his quartet (Bob Cranshaw on electric bass, Mike LeDonne on piano and Mickey Roker playing drums.) There were two sets, and I had a ticket for the first one. I got there early to see if I could get to talk to Milt Jackson a bit. Turns out their sound man never showed up for the gig. I am an amatuer audio engineer, so I volunteered... it was perfect. I got to sit right next to him while he was playing and I got to stay for the second show for free.
