to Begin .. i would just like to say that ive known tony since the he started this adventure of the vibesworkshop ... and hands down. this is the best source on the planet for any mallet percussionist beginner .. semi pro or recording artist... thank you soo much for allow us all to contribute our brains to your brainchild ... much respect ...

I just set up a new library. Remember our old one? The thing about the software we use is that we're at the mercy of the open source drupal community. The last library we had set up used a module that pulled in all the Amazon info for a product. Now we have a new module but for technical reasons we have to build back the library.
So all you jazz vibe veteran subscribers consider posting a review or 2 a week to help all the new vibes players on the site build their vibe library and learn.
We used to have a way of posting Amazon products here which made it easy to review cds! Well I've finally got it back up and running. So I invite all you guys to try it out and post your favorite vibe cd here.

I spend quite a bit of time practicing and don't always feel as if I'm progressing as desired.
I'm also one of those guys that get completely immersed in something and burn out when air runs out. So I'm adding something new to my practice options.
The Story:
I like shooting sports. ALL shooting sports! Sporting clays, skeet, hand gun sports, 3D archery, rifle, carbine... I love all of it. Especially sporting clays because I like watching the clays turn to dust. Learning to shoot has a lot in common with playing jazz.
I've been telling Mario about the shout's you guys have been doing about the Mallet Kat. I said 'be a nice Italian boy and give them a good deal'.

I tend to agree. Paid-for music has now pretty much reached the ease-of-use it could've had in 2000. Now all that remains is to change the habits that were ingrained by the record companies treating customers as enemies. I don't know how long that will take.

I'm totally digging the TOTM. I feel like we're all studying together. That's the difference. You can find anything on youtube, but this is turning out to be a sort of school isn't it? Everybody working and learning together. Talking about stuff. It's kind of like a collective unconcious or some sort of Yungean thing. There's a bunch of us going around thinking about Bluesette during the day and digesting it all. Now that's cool and fun. Hey?
The Jason Marsalis posting touched on this and brought me back to thinking about it; I have been working on this addition to the Theory section of my website for a few months, trying to get my head around it... typically for me, it's too long and not completely clear yet.
