I'm just back from my little annual gig. I couldn't help listening to the recordings... And I can't help posting my first little solo live piece tonight... Some of you followed my work on this dampening etude. A few of you truly encouragement me (Dim, Tarik, Tony...) and of course David who inspired me. So you'll hear my dedicace to him after the tune.

instead of learning how to play a song nice on 1 instrument, i´m stupid enough to try it on two simultan. this is fu**ing difficult to deal both instruments and the sustains, so i just put the malletkat sustain pedal under the vibes pedal, which makes it a little bit easier, cause if i press the vibes pedal i sustain both but it´s still hard enough for me.
i´m sorry for the many wrong notes and chords but i´m just very slowly getting used it. that was my best try out of many...

I didn't think I would post so soon again. But then again : the more I post, the more I can get feedback, the more I can learn,...
I came a cross a simple excercise for 12bar blues on piano, so I thought, let's take this to the vibraphone.
After some practising I came at this. (I'm not even sure the chords are 100% OK)
P.S. a pitty, you can't hear it, but on the last chord, I even let it vibrate. :-)

Anyone heard of this guy? I think he's fantastic. A friend of mine recently introduced me to his stuff. What do you guys think? I attached a video.
This is a rough version on the tune, I decided to post it, I know I can do it better but strike while the iron is hot right?....:)forgive a few bum notes,tried to apply some of the stuff talked about as well......and then I read Behn doesn't like solos on ballads..shit. sorry Behn
Here's an exercise I did recently. Just played a tune and played the offbeats. It's pretty hard.
Add the MalletKat in the mix and working with the pedal (which you have to really think a little differently with when playing lines) and this is a very hard etude.
AND....... metronome on 2 and 4
Try it on the vibes and try to keep the notes smooth and legato and swing the offbeats.
