I was thinking that after this TOTM (blues) is over that maybe we should spend at least a month studying chords. How about an intense month of chords???
What do you guys think? Everything I and hopefully some of the other guys can think of about chords.
Let's pull up all the old chord lessons and make new ones.
What do you think?
I recently began teaching privately via Skype and Face Time. I've been asked in the past about teaching via Skype but have been reluctant since I'm not too tech savvy. But, I'm pleasantly surprised how easy it has been. I recently had a lesson with Ben Redman from Scotland. Ben has been working on playing a chord melody on "Moonlight in Vermont". We talked about various chord options when playing the chords along with the melody. I suggested some voicings using specific tensions as well as some reharmonization possibilities.
Man this is some incredible music! What a great adventure this must have been for all! I love Joe's part from 1'44 to 3'08: awesome! And to me, even it's Tim Garland's writting at 2'23 it sounds like a "long Locke lick"! Haha! Enjoy! - M
I went shopping for a van ramp this morning for my Hammond organ. Although I haven't made a purchase yet, I wanted to share a little bit of what I learned.
Past threads have discussed moving the vibes assembled (my preference) versus assembling/dissembling the instrument every time. To move the vibes already assembled, you need a van of some kind, so this is for those of you who own a minivan and might be interested in this topic.
Oh man! Isn't he cute? And damn right on the money!! A lesson for us all!! :o)
