The past 12 months have been a bit tough for me (nothing dramatic though). I did my best to keep up with the vibes, but it’s been hard.

Since June 21st I’ve had no chance to take back the mallets, my vibes remaining covered in my living room, holding papers and folded clothes. I was always blinded by my ‘duties’.

Until last Saturday afternoon, when I suddenly realised, in the middle of all the things I still had to do… that I was alone at home. I took off the cover. Found back the multicolored Miceli 46R, and finally allowed myself some real time for me.

But now we are back home, so back to work. :-)

Look what Nadja just posted on Youtube today: another beautiful version of Joe's tune "Sword of Whispers", performed on July 13th at the Royal Academy of Music in London... I love this version as it's played in duet by two friends, on two beautiful instruments. Enjoy! :o)

A nice shot of the band last night at Dolans for our first gig of the small tour lines up...workshop gig tonight..Sligo Jazz Project gig up the west of Ireland tomorrow where some of the heavy cats are teaching for the week. Then on to Dublin Sunday for our final gig at JJ Smyths. Its been a great week and everyone has enjoyed it thoroughly.

I've had the busiest summer in a while I think. But it's starting to wind down. I've travelled for a big chunk of it. This is good and fun and also tiring. Esepcially if you're getting old! <;-)

does anybody know which felt (Musser, Yamaha etc.?) fits and works on an old Premier vibraphone damper?
Which kind of felt I should use if I have to create my own replacement?
