David at work and sounding great. Here we are talking about bass lines.
We will stream some of the classes and tonight's concert (Feb 23), as well as tomorrow's classes (Feb 24) and the vibe hang ending the concert.
Keep an eye out, I'll post on the site and in the shout box.
The stream will be from here:
We will end our winter workshop with a streaming vibe hang featuring, David Friedman, Matias Haus, Matthias Goebel, Tony Miceli and some of the guys from the workshop.
It will take place at 6pm Germany time, Central European Time (CET) +0100 UTC . This should be a lot of fun and we hope you can come support all the members of the workshop!
I will post the link some time soon. Check back here before the hang starts.
Ok, here's my performance of this tune. I have 2 more lessons on it, then let's be done with it!!! Haha!
Hey everyone.
I wanted to report that I just had some Yamaha bars retuned by Bill Youhass at Fall Creek Marimba, and I am very pleased! i think Bob Leatherbarrow had posted about this, so thanks for the tip Bob.
I sent my 442 bars, and had them retuned to 440 (so I no longer own 442 bars - yes, finally... they make no sense in the US). Comparing Bob's 440 tuning with my other factory-tuned 440 Yamaha bars, they are much smoother. Much more in tune with themselves, with less peculiar artifacts.
I highly recommend Bill's tuning skills!
Hi U of Del Students,
Tony has asked me to assign one of my etudes for you to work on. Here is a link to my etude on How Deep Is The Ocean:
http://www.vibesworkshop.com/audio/totm-how-deep-ocean-etude-no-1-behn-…
It doesn't have to be perfect, but work on it and try to get it close to tempo. This etude will help you with ideas for lines. You can listen to my version of it, as well as the other members who have posted it.
U Del,
Here is your first assignment for the Trimester. @Harvey, pick the due date, ok?
and I'll include links to all our TOTMs for How Deep Is the Ocean (TOTM = Tune of the Month).
Also here is a look to the Vbook section where we have most of the TOTM Click here.
