This week I've been playing a Piper Musser at one of the local community colleges, and a couple days ago the pedal fell complete off... with no apparent way to get it reattached. From what I know at this point, the bolt was cemented in, and we can't get the whole bolt out. What to do? I can upload photos of the problem area if anyone (maybe John Piper?) could advise us.
We hope to get it fixed before Fall classes begin. One person suggested asking the machine shop department to make a new part. This vibraphone is no longer manufactured, and there may not be extra parts for it available.

THANK YOU! I don't have facebook or know what facebook PM is. Is there another way I can send the JPEGs?
The pedal in your video is attached near the floor. Ours has a long metal extension that comes down from under the keyboard. Maybe this was an earlier version?

I wish I could bring ALL the Piper Vibraphones up to the current upgrades. I'd do it at my cost.
Thank you for expressing appreciation for Vibes Workshop and me.

well i just put it in the newsletter. let's go on a campaign to restore piper vibes. right?

i think too many people have instruments and they're not handy and then can't get there minds around how to fix them up. so let's have a goal of all the piper vibes in working order!!! i should mention it on my fb page as well!

I would like to see and hear a video with Tony using your leather mallets, playing a standard. Because of the unknown recording technology and your different style of playing I cannot really imagine the special sound of the mallets.

Yes, Tony, I was talking to you. You and I talked about getting you some parts to distribute and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do that in the next couple months. Sorry for the confusion.
