End of the Month

Hey guys,

I'm a real believer of setting goals. They at least tell you if you're on track or off track. I think it's ok to be either of them, but the thing that's important is that you know whether you're on track or off track.

Ear Training

I would like to know what resources are available (online, software, books, CDs, etc.) for ear training. I'm interested in something that would be self-directed and I can work on at my own pace.

I'm interested in this subject because I seem to have a great ear for some things and a terrible one for others. I never had formal ear training and I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just go back to the basics. I'm interested in whatever anyone has to say about ear training. Thanks, Bob

Unison (Bjork) by James Shipp & Nós Novo

*I just noticed that you could submit performances for members, so I wanted to put this out there again.*

This is a video I recently made of my band, Nós Novo, playing one of my favorite Bjork tunes. Though the band was founded with a view to playing and playing with Celtic musics from our perspective as jazz musicians, we also do the occasional song that I just really enjoy playing and feel suits the group... to my ears there's a lot of connection to Irish music in this performance, but if it doesn't strike you that way, I hope you enjoy it for what it is.
