I had an annoying pedal click on my Deagan 580. I traced it to one of the hinges. Easy fix - wrap Teflon tape. Silent pedal now. :-)

After I was very enthusiastic about the surround sound with the twisted resonator fans, but at the same time didn't want to forego the possibility to play without "wah wah" effect, I looked for a solution to realize the switching between twisted or parallel aligned fans with simple means.
The video shows a first prototype of a corresponding facility, albeit not yet in its original size.
Since the principle works, I'll start to build a full-size version.
My attempt at David Friedman's 5th etude from his book "Dampening and Pedaling".
Ferde Grofé's "On the Trail," the first of two pieces arranged for vibraphone and marimba, performed by Oliver Mayman (vibraphone) and Lonnie Davis (marimba).
The second duo will be posted on Oliver's channel on 10/21/20 at https://youtu.be/FMnBnpS3ceE
Subscribe to Oliver! He posts great stuff!
A little background... a few weeks ago, I did the first of what will be a series of recordings/videotapings at Morningstar Studio, here in Philly. The owner/lead engineer is Glenn Barratt. He is a wonderful engineer and a virtual well of understanding about recording technique and hardware. You can visit his studio's website at https://www.morningstarstudios.com/
This is a cool tune. Let's learn it. You can really learn a lot from studying this tune.
So.... Listen to it.... Learn the head and learn the chords.
I made a few lessons up already. I play the melody (differently:wrong). I learned this tune years ago and it evolved into something else. You will hear it. It's subtle. I learned something from doing this lesson!
See if you can spot it when you hear my play it.
Getting into the last few etudes. This one has some really cool harmonic stuff. I tried to be mindful of the dynamics and phrasing, but I did intentionally leave out a ritardando in the middle section because I wasn't quite hearing it.
