So I saw a picture recently on eBay (it might still be on there) of someone who was able to collapse an M75 and put it in cases. Is this the case with all M75's or just the newer ones? Has anyone ever collapsed an M75 and put it in cases?

The M75 is not nor has it ever been a collapsible instrument in the traditional sense. Most vibrpahone have folding legs and are thus considered collapsible. The M75 can be broken down into many pieces and placed in cases but it is a time consuming process. Take the bars off, remove the damper bar, lift out each individual rail and resonator bank, disengange the end pieces from the cross bar and pack all these pieces into cases.

It is a nice instrument but usually for concert halls or your home studio. most people find not suitable for gigging.
