Hi guys !
I recently saw Mathiaus Haus in concert at Spring Vibes Session in Wuppertal playing a Musser M 55 with KandK Sound System with Audio Midi Interface. The mix of acoustic vibes and Midi banks was beautiful !
Mathias said to me after the concert that KandK had been cut off the Midi Interface just after it came out, kind of 20 years ago.
I own a Musser M48 equiped with KandK piezo mics. It works great for acoustic amplification ! No need overhead mics.
Do you know if i can get an Audio Midi system, means with Midi Interface to combine my beautiful acoustic Musser sound with Midi banks ?
Thanks guys for your help !

Nico vanderplas, a boutique vibes builder in the Netherlands who makes excellent gear, was making a midi system for a while and he may still be. You can reach him at info@vanderplasbaileo.com . I don't know if his unit will work with K&K, but it may. You may also be able to continue to use your piezo pickups (which are pretty generic, just a piezo disc soldered to a cable w/some potting compound to protect the junction) with his collector rails and midi unit. For K&K, you need to find a used midi unit (which may require a lot of patience) and you need to have an older pickup system with the computer type wiring (like 9 or 21 pin cable hook up, can't remember) for the preamp. I think there were latency issues with the K&K. K&K makes a different and better preamp now, but my understanding is that it does not work with the K&K midi. You could also contact Dieter at K&K and ask him if he has any recommendations.

Also check with Steve Shapiro on this board. He is using a guitar to midi adapter. It can do one note at a time but won't handle chords. Still, able to get some great sounds. He posted a video here sometime in the last year showing some of the great sounds.

Man ! You seem pretty good in this topic Vince. Thanks a lot for your comment. Helps me a lot. Seems no easy to adapt midi on audio system. Regardeless Steve Shapiro, i like his system a looooot. It' terrific ! But the guy doesn't speak to much of how it's works ....
I'll make some try ..... anyway .....
