While spending way too much time on YouTube this past month, I discovered this tremendous player by accident. Seriously, anyone looking for an entire evening's variety of great bankable material need look no further; if you look through his many online videos, you'll find a lot of variety between actual jazz compositions and standard tunes. This video is of Monk's tune "I Mean You."
"Body & Soul" - the last video of my sabbatical project which was the application of improvisational concepts along with solo vibraphone playing techniques. This was the focus of the break along with the work on two book projects (solo vibraphone playing and dampening/pedaling). It's been a nice break but I'm looking forward to getting back to Berklee for the Spring semester.
Morgan transcribed me playing Joy Spring. Here it is! Mistakes and all :-)
It's from this version:

There is the link for this transcription. Now you can study a little John Piper.
Morgan is a Philly based vibe player. She's from Rochester. She is a great vibe player and an amazing musician with unbelievable ears. Here are some of her transcriptions.

This is wild! Shawn is dissing Philosophy with his vibes right next to him!!! I love it!
But I don't understand it! VW member Tristan is a Philosopher and probably gets all this!
I just love to hear all this talk with a vibraphone right next to him!
I have thought a lot about life with my vibes right next to me!
