What I learned at the workshop....
1. Mallets made with tie died yarn are magic.
2. Perfect 4th intervals are nomads and are useful just about anywhere.
3. If you play the #9 + b13 + b9 of a dominant 7th chord it makes two perfect 4ths. Interesting. Example D7 F + Bb + Eb.
4. Playing music is very hard work and those who do it for a living have special athletic ability.

This is a basic arrangement for vibes or marimba of the popular jazz standard "Afternoon in Paris". It demonstrates a couple different ways to accompany a melody - using a counter line or a block chord. It also employs a simple pedal point for the left hand during the bridge.

I talk a little about the Bird blues changes. I always thought of them as a rebellion to the blues. It's harder to play the blues over them and it forces you to really play through the changes.
I love this lesson and he says 'It's Important to Sing'. I love when I hear my idols saying things that I believe, It means I'm on track!
Well maybe things are back to normal. Before I go and apologize and tell you guys what happened and everything else I have to say, let me see what's up with my partner.
