I finally finished my new book and have settled on a title. The Shapes and Patterns of Music Prologue

The book is approximately 50 pages of nonstop exercise patterns. Great for reading and improvising. I hope you enjoy the workout! The printed complete book will be available very soon.

My wife and I are passing through Spokane on vacation, and we visited the "Historic" Davenport Hotel, a hotel originally built in 1914 and then fully restored several years ago.

Been vacant on the site here the last few months. Just wanted to take a minute and do a quick blog about what I've been doing in the shed the last few weeks.

This year I decided I wanted to be a stronger 2 mallet player. From the time I got on the vibes in college after playing marimba for a year or two I pretty quickly committed to 4 mallets, all the time. The whole approach from the Burton school, comping, dampening, etc.
I love it!
