The play along is too long so I just did the head twice and a couple of choruses. Sorry for the abrupt ending. New to Logic.
Instead of dropping mallets I added applause at the end. Its very encouraging and uplifting:)

I love it!!

This is a great great first post Todd!! :o)

I love the atmosphere, and I can feel all the heart you put in every note! And this funny wink on Smoke on the Water, and the crazy applause at the end! Haha!

Hmm... just one question... the sound of your vibes... which mallets are you using? How do you record the vibes?... Huh?

But I'm sure you'll have many great advices from vibists...

Anyway thank you so much for this great jump! You rock! Congrats!

Many many more to come I'm sure!

Go Todd!! :o)

Hey Todd, I dig it. And nice applause too!

vibeman27 Mon, 05/10/2010 - 13:53

Doxy is apparently still in very good hands. Almost everybody tries this tune at one time or another and you make it sound good. Like your applause at end but not familiar with Logic. What is full name of that software if I may ask??

The software I use is called Logic Pro from Apple.
Its very common in the music industry.
To record I use:
1. A Presonus FP10 interface
2. CAD condensor mics (I think E70s)
3, The John Piper hard mallets.

Applause makes everyone feel good.
And since VW is about encouraging and growing people and their skills I thought it fits.
It makes me smile and I think its funny.
The applause sample actually comes from the Garage Band catalog.

Nice playing. What kind of instrument are you playing on? I hear the same applause after I play too. Usually there are several roses and various undergarments covering my vibe after a particularly good set.

it's a 1979 Musser 44 with a chain pedal.
It does not have graduated bars. The damper makes
weird noises. And according to Marie It sounds
like milk bottles. But it's paid for and I'm having a blast

If you find a good sample of flying undergarments
please let me know.

I always dig it when someone pays a little tribute to one of the masters and then goes on to his own thing. I'd also like to mention that the creative use of the tune "Smoke on the Water" made my day.

All the best,
