Here is a play along that has the changes to the handout by Larry McKenna. It's rhythm changes in Bb and has lots of substitute turnarounds. You can use this to practice the solo Larry has written out or just to try playing solo over the…
I was having fun playing around with parallel 6ths. They sound so cool on the vibes. I tried it on piano and it doesn't sound as nice. Anyway, I started playing a song that I recognized but don't know the name. Can anyone name that…
Hey Everyone--
I love talking about all my favorite vibes players and the albums they've made as leaders and sidemen. I am curious, though, what everyone gravitates to when they're not listening to the vibes. (Up to you, but I'm not…
Here's the handout for the class Wed. Nov., 5th 2008. (7pm)
btw- Larry is coming from a recording session so if for some reason he's late I'll post the change in times here.
Check out the cool font Larry uses in his Finale Program!
I'm very appreciative to mon amie Marie-Noelle on her kind words about the tunes on my MySpace page with the H-Factor, a local Philly jazz group. She pointed out to me that since previously, my page was set to private, that nobody was able…

Can you think of more?
Back in the day! Piper, Ed Saindon and I would hang online and play a lot. Here's my version of Dolphin Dance. I've posted there's as well as well as the podcast. It should be all linked on this page somewhere!
- Mike Mainieri: vibes
- Etienne Mbappe: bass
- Rodney Holmes: drum
- Bryan Baker: guitar
- Till Brönner: trumpet
