今天要講的是oleo
首先第一個步驟就是要練好head（主旋律）
看似很簡單，但是其實蠻困難。
要不失去swing，並且對到節拍器，其實不容易。
這也可以是個很好的對節拍器warm up的小練習。
你的任務就是要開啟節拍器，試著練習好幾個星期，用不同的速度（tempo）練。
像是很快的速度其實難度很高，但是這個練習會對你很有幫助。

Was trying to find some other ways to play the harmony on this common tune. I think I stole a lot from Bill Evans, I've been listening to him a lot lately.

Stevie's tune Isn't She Lovely lays pretty well on the vibes. The changes are fun to play on and the easy groove keeps it all going. The tune sort of plays itself!

Does anyone have any advice for publishing your original music? I've been doing a fair amount of composing lately for a CD project I'm working on, and I was wondering how the process works, is it worth doing, etc.

A little while ago Mike Pinto mentioned the benefits of publishing your tunes and I looked into the company he's with, but they seem to require more stature in the industry than I have. Does anyone have suggestions that will work for people with day jobs?

Ok, so here's another overdub thing I did. I played Anthropology, head/soloing/head, then instead of rhodes accompaniment, I just did a vibes part underneath. I think the challenge here is to not make the underneath vibes comping sound in the way. Very hard to do that!

Basically, I just play a bunch of choruses, and try to exhaust all the stuff that I would normally play. After awhile, I try to find new little things to add on top of the other stuff. I like practicing this way because it forces you to come outside your comfort zone.

Here's my first percussion piece, with more to come. My wife doesn't dig it. But Harvey Price does so that's hipper than my wife digging it! Got to work on my snare parts, but this is it. quick vibe solos. I think I'll post with the vibe part as soon as it's done in Finale. Then maybe some of you guys can give it a shot!

I've been spending a few hours a day taking pieces and playing them. I give myself a few minutes and then I record a take. I love the tune Django and want to work it up to play with a group and also as a solo piece. It's an incredibly beautiful tune!

I have the MIC TOO close to the vibe I realized. I'm using my zoom for this. Lots of instrument noise. But this is just a practice session for me, so who cares.

Thought this might be inspiring. Some great lines to steal!
