The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) - A spontaneous version of this classic which is always a favorite this time of year. Happy Holidays to everyone!
"Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans" - one of my favorites played and sung by the great Louis Armstrong. I love this style of old time jazz. Used to listen a lot to Louis, Eddie Condon, Bobby Hackett, Dave McKenna, Earl "Fatha" Hines, Sidney Bechet,...So many great players from that era.
How did I miss this CD. I like it. I LOVE Matchbook. I never heard this one!
I love good guitar and vibe duos. Anyone know of any more?
This is my girlfriends favorite song. She said the title really speaks to her. I don't get it.
Emil was one of the best percussionists ever.
If you watched Bugs Bunny cartoons you heard Emil. Most movies from 70's to the a year or so ago that used LA musicians used Emil.
And he was a very good vibe player!!!
Anyone want to add anything?
My table is below, it's the bottom one. I thought I was the only one in the world with a vibraphone table!
Then my friend Glenn sent me the second photo directly below.
Nothing is new! Only unique! That's my motto!

OK, so here I'm practicing lines over the changes to Staffan's tune, "...Or someone else"
I counted it off, to make the goal tempo clear. I'm NOT using a metronome, although I would recommend it if you haven't done much practicing like this. I'm concentrating on keeping the tempo and phrasing. Oddly enough, note choices take a back seat to these other considerations.
Lead sheet is attached.
