Gave me chills.
Is being a musician inherently selfish? Do we necessarily have to be a somewhat selfish person to be a great musician?
This came up at the coffee house today. I find it a very interesting and fertile aesthetic question to ask. The answer is, as with so many aspects of playing, "it depends". Of course, it can be that this is the case. But, does it have to be?

This is my first version of a usable twistable shaft for vibraphone fans. The concept enables the use on most vibraphones (e.g. Musser M55) for a more or less DIY-self-adaptation as a retrofit kit while continuing to use the existing drive unit.
But it took a rainy November weekend to fit the fans and coupling elements together.
That's what I've been looking for for years.
I hosted the vibe coffeehouse hang today and made some games.
Here is a "guess that vibraphonist and tune" game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mJdIlmds4w&feature=youtu.be
And here is a jazz standards puzzle: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M4fvMH_6Np30Y30DHw75YeAq2vidBxvD/view?…
If you weren't at the hang, feel free to play and write your guesses here in the comments! :)

Hi everybody!
I am sure this topic comes up pretty often, but I am looking to expand my mallet collection and wondering what vibraphone mallets you are all liking lately?
I use Tony's mallets for just about everything and I love them but I'd like to start investing in some more options for different purposes.
Does anyone have any suggestions/favorite pairs that might suit the following?
1. A general purpose set of mallets that are more lightweight
2. A set of soft mallets for quieter settings
Thank you!!
