Great standard written in 1947 with lyrics by Sammy Cahn and music by Jule Styne. Many great versions of this song by vocalists and instrumentalists. Two of my favorite are from Chet Baker and Keith Jarrett.

You put the chords in. It will help you memorize them. Note the upper partials and add them in as well. Play the etude!
I was jamming with some guys last night & "What Is This Thing Called Love?" was called. I had learned the tune a few years ago but didn't really remember it, & kinda picked it back up as we went along. Looking at it again briefly today I decided to try to use my ears rather than charts to clean it up again. Here's a rough recording from that process. Also posting before I'd call it ready because waiting until they're perfect tends to result in me never posting. :P

Here's a two chorus line etude on Minority. Take notice of some of the diatonic phrases in the beginning. Remember that even simple ideas can really outline the chord if you end on 3rds and 7ths in the right way!

Georgia - practicing some four to the bar left hand with left foot hi hats on this classic song. There were some hats in the practice room and I figured I would give it a go. Needs some work still. And I can't blame the drummer. Ha!Ha!
This is my solo vibraphone attempt on the well known standard For Heaven's Sake, by Don Meyer (I love this piece). 1 chorus for the theme, 1 chorus for improvising, 1 A section to wrap up the tune. I played in the changes, and tried to play around the theme for my solo.
If you have the time to listen to it, please give me feedback, whatever it is, beacause I don't have a lot of occasions to play the vibraphone publicly!

Clip of "All The Things You Are" with Tim Ray on piano and myself on vibes. This was from a concert last week at the Sahara Club in Methuen, MA. They have a jazz series named Jocko's Jazz that has been going on every Tuesday night for many years. Great appreciation to Jocko Arcidiacono for supporting jazz and jazz musicians for so many years in this area. Thanks also to Jocko's wife Anne and to Dick for taping the proceedings.
