Just put up a clip from a really fun trio gig I did here in NYC a few weeks back. I love playing vibes trio w just bass and drums and it was a treat to play with a really top rhythm section of Clarence Penn and Joe Martin.

A little shedding before classes at Berklee this morning. Solo vibraphone playing on the Gershwin classic "Embraceable You".

This for my student, but it's for all. it's a VERY QUICK and dirty chord version of Fly Me To The Moon. Done in about 15 minutes. Good enough for what Frank needs, but you're welcome to check it out.

This is not revolutionary impro. It's an exercise.
The deal here is to record first the vibes with no click, just inside time feel. In a second time I record the piano to check if it's match all together. This is a very good exercise inspired by Tony Miceli and Dave Friedman. ;-)

This etude is deceptively SUPER hard!!! I think when we have chord melodies, we rely heavily on our knowledge of voicings, and that helps guide us through tunes.

But when you do something with two voices, it's almost like there's more to think about in some strange way. Anyway, try this etude to see whatI'm talking about :)
