Hello,
My name is stephen and i am the only jazz vibes player in my middle school. I am actually the only one to walk through as a vibe player. I recently received a set of ludwig and ludwig vibes over the holidays. I am interested in subscribing, but i have a few questions. Whats the difference between the type of memberships? Do i lose any oppertunities by getting a student membership? I enjoy playing vibes and i already take lessons. Do i need the premium membership?
Also, does anyone no how tony's 46rs sound on non-graduated bars like the ones on a jenco?

Just to make this area of post somewhat correct, i would suggest putting a questions forum somewhere.

Thanks,
Stephen

no choose what you can afford. eventually there will be a difference but not yet. usually the older guys with money pay the higher one and students pay the student rate. i did that primarily to help out students.

if you have a teacher and subscribe here, that's great, i think. then you have someone to bring stuff to. is your teacher a jazz player? most students have classical teachers or classical teachers who play a little jazz. all of which is GREAT. it's just good to have a teacher, some of the guys on the site here live in more remote parts of the world and can't even find a teacher.

this is a great place to supplement a teacher, you can learn so much here with all the other players and you can post things that you're doing with your teacher as well as post performances here and videos etc.

try it out and see what you think. if you don't like during the first month and feel like you wasted your money, i'll refund it.

btw, barry has an old version of the mallets, they're a little harder now. i like the soft ones and i hit hard. so does behn gillece but most guys like the harder mallet. it will cut through more, if you're playing in the school band.

i recently went and heard a high school wind ensemble and they had 2 mallet players wailing away back there. but i didn't hear ONE note of what they played. nothing, not one single note!
