Zoom/Online works, especially starting out. This site can hook you up with the best in the business. That said, I think one of the most overlooked things is getting the phrasing and articulation on the instrument into your head and hands. I have heard many competent players who know their stuff, but can't make the instrument sound good. Usually bad pedaling, too much ringing, lots of staccato phrases, etc. One way to tackle that is to learn a good, short jazz vibes solo by ear. I remember one of the first things I learned was two choruses of blues by Bobby Hutcherson in a video on YouTube where he plays Bags Groove with Joe Locke. I already had some background in jazz, so it wasn't the theory I was learning, but how to translate the jazz sound onto the instrument.
