Hi guys,
Today I'd like to talk about a good Friend of mine that, besides being a great percussionist and human being, he's an artist of creating hand made mallets.
I've met Alessandro Pellegrino during the Italy Pas 2 years ago and I got the chance to try out some of his mallets.
I was really surprise about the worm sound a great round attack and, of course, the rattan he chose because it was exactly what i was looking for getting the right mood in my playing.
A great musical moment from the Oirquartett winter concert...
The arrangement is written by Giulio Scaramella one of the best pianist i've had the opportunity to play with!
Giovanni Perin: Vibes
Giulio scaramella: Piano
Marco Trabucco: El Bass
Max Trabucco: Drums

Hey guys, at home today playing the classic standard "Stars Fell On Alabama" with a "four to the bar" groove. I enjoy playing in this style and this is a great tune for that type of groove. I know Tony has posted some great lessons on this topic. It might be helpful to view those lessons and apply what he's talking about to this tune. Feel free to post any questions if you get a chance to try this style out. There are quite a few important and subtle things that help to make it work.
if it doesn't play, click this link to check this out.

Hey Philly players come over this weekend. Vibe Hang at My house. 12pm until 2pm. East Coast Time. GMT -4
For the rest of you guys watch it online.
Hello all – I'm sure this topic is not very interesting for those who know that the musician makes the music, (for the most part) but I'm in a position to buy a second vibraphone...(I got approved for 0% – but don't want to go into hugh debt so the budget is tight) do not want to go past 4500 bucks – keeping that in mind.
Knowing that an instrument is a personal choice and most have limited budgets. I will be using this instrument for practice, (most of my practicing is on the second floor with a very tight stairway) special concerts and doing some personal recordings..
Hey Everyone,
Do you remember me badgering you for your birth years so I could include your names chronologically in a "poem"? Well, the book in which that will be published is ready for printing. It's called Free Verse and Photos in the Key of Jazz. There are 36 verses and all but one is made up of only jazz song titles, the shortest with four and the longest, "My Little Brown Book," with 73! The verse "Vibraphonissimo," breaks the mold as a list of 104 vibes players resting upon the two who pioneered the instrument.
