Vibraphone Technique: Dampening and Pedaling

Still think I can have a lighter touch to the instrument, and for some reason I have a few “buzzing” sounds as I dampen a bar with the mallet. I’m guessing the buzz comes from not dampening the bar firm enough?
A little Saturday morning practice before heading out to mow the lawn. Ha!Ha! Playing "Don't Forget (Renato's Theme"), a beautiful song composed by the great Pat Metheny. I love Pat's writing and the sound and feel of my M39 Vic Firth mallets.

"Fortune Smiles" - one of my favorite songs from Keith Jarrett. I'm a huge fan of his playing and compositions. This song was recorded on one of my favorite recordings released in 1971 and titled "Gary Burton and Keith Jarrett"
OMG! How about taking this setup for a 50 dollar gig! Maybe these guys are famous?
Well, I'd rather play the vibes and play tunes, but I'm sure lots of people like there music!
So don't complain the next time you have to change your cord!!!
