Here's a new clip that we just recorded in my home studio this past Sunday. Mark and I have been playing duo gigs for awhile now. He came over to hang and play some tunes. Playing duo with upright bass is a lot of fun.
it is necesary any comment?
yes! come back to my practice room! and do not leave until......
I too would like to give my little contribution on our new TOTM and post a lesson... A great lesson!
Enjoy, work hard, and post your version based on it!! ;-)
So I think a bunch of us should go nuts and make a commitment to rhythm changes.
If there was a good commitment we could even plan some things. Maybe get some guys over here and do a vibe hang where we play ONLY rhythm changes or variants of!!!
How about one head many keys every 4 days!
Lots of ideas. Who would practice the crap out of rhythm changes???
Another memorable day for a memorable guy, Lionel Hampton who's birthday occurs today. What an amazing guy, he put the vibraphone on the map.

Let's pay a little tribute to Teddy Charles who left us this week... Smoking title from 1956... with Charles Mingus (if you please!) :o)

This is another tune of the concert by Luis played in a São Luiz Jazz Festival in Lisboa the last 1st of April with a combo of the school where I'm studying.
The band is:
Fábio Almeida: alto sax
Luis Miguel: tenor sax
Marcel Pascual: vibraphone
Ricardo Pinto: piano
Diogo Dinis: double-bass
Nuno Oliveira: drums
The sound and image of the video is not so good, but well, this was a concert. I'm behind the blonde head...
