Beautiful Love - Malletkat & Vibes simultan by Tarik

instead of learning how to play a song nice on 1 instrument, i´m stupid enough to try it on two simultan. this is fu**ing difficult to deal both instruments and the sustains, so i just put the malletkat sustain pedal under the vibes pedal, which makes it a little bit easier, cause if i press the vibes pedal i sustain both but it´s still hard enough for me.

i´m sorry for the many wrong notes and chords but i´m just very slowly getting used it. that was my best try out of many...

12bar blues 1st attempt

Hey,

I didn't think I would post so soon again. But then again : the more I post, the more I can get feedback, the more I can learn,...

I came a cross a simple excercise for 12bar blues on piano, so I thought, let's take this to the vibraphone.

After some practising I came at this. (I'm not even sure the chords are 100% OK)

P.S. a pitty, you can't hear it, but on the last chord, I even let it vibrate. :-)

greetings,
Stefan.

My New Practice Place Setup

my girlfriend thinks i´m totally crazy but i´m a little bit proud :)

it took some time and research to put the malletkat up like this above the vibes. in the end it´s an keyboard stand expansion for 19€. i think it´s the best setup to play both instrument like i want to do in some situations. but dealing all the footswitches and playing both instrument at the same time needs alot of practice...

Impro based on 'I'm still here'

Hey,

What I'm posting here, is an improvisation I've been using for the last months simply to warm myself up, before actually doing lessons, or studying things. I'm a bit done with it, so as a closure, so to say, I'll post one.

It all began with the tune 'I'm still here' from Tom Waits in my head. (O yeah, I'm a huge Waits fan, so it's not the last time you'll hear me talking of him.) For those who don't know this song, here is a link.

Memories of Brazil by K. David Johnson

I wanted to announce the release of my new CD - Memories of Brazil. The CD reflects back on the years that I spent in Rio de Janeiro as a member of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira). It features wonderful music written by the Brazilian composer Ney Rosauro - including a new two part work written especially for the occasion. The focus is on vibraphone with some solo pieces as well as some duets with guitar, voice and piano.

Vibe Summit XIX - Soul Sauce

Surely some of you remember our 'endless' blues from our online vibe hangs. I remember that the last one in Amsterdam (february) lasted around 35 mn! Haha!

This is the 'west coast' version of this type of 'good vibes shared' performance from last Sunday Vibe Summit... and of course it's on 'Soul Sauce'... Guachi Guaro!

ps: 'only' some 15 mn! C'mon! (I love the end!)
