Friedman Etude! Insult my playing!
Here's a video I promised...... Who did I promise! Anyway more on the separating of the hands and playing. Totally inspired by watching David Friedman and listening to him at the workshops and listening to him.
I'm at the 'Black Academy of Arts and Letters' in Dallas, Friday and Sat. Now come on, Texas is a small state so I hope to see everybody there!
I'm playing with Diane Monroe

Here's a quick note:
The next vibe hang will be Novemeber 7th. I think we're going to have the vibe hang from University of Delaware. It will feature marimbist Casey Cangelosi, University of Delaware students (and Harvey) and hopefully Temple and Uarts student vibe players!
We'll a guest player of the wood pile (marimba!) Casey Cangelosi! He's a smokin' marimba player!!
Check out this line up tomorrow!

We now have four ways to view the Vibeworkshop videos:
Hi All,
I've done a webapp for the iPhone that shows the videos that have been posted here. Point Safari at http://vibes.phelan-4.com/roku/iphone.php to view it.
This gives us four ways now to see the videos on the site (as of this morning, that's 830 videos!):
Hey who wants to meet up for dinner and then go see Bobby Hutcherson play?
Let's make a list here, then we can find a restaurant nearby and have dinner.
We'll go dutch, I'm too broke to pay for a bunch of vibe players!
I'm in.
Leave a comment and let me know if you're interested.
Shameless promotion ;-)
Last couple of weeks we have been busy finalizing the new midi system for our instruments.
We have just completed our first LW35 with embedded midi, and have prepared the gigVibe's design to be able to also carry the midi.
The system is a completely new design, a.o. it is smaller, so it fits inside the endblocks.
As it is now, it is only available for our instruments, but in the very near future it will also be available for other brands.

The Vibesworkshop videos are now available on Android phones. The app has the same functionality as the Roku app, so see http://www.vibesworkshop.com/video/vibesworkshopcom-roku-now-available/… to see how it works.
The app is available for free in the Android Market, just search for "vibes". Any feedback/problems, post here or e-mail me. Enjoy!
