Ok, I think I've seen a lot of vibe players, talked to them and listened to them. I have a huge stack of CDs, I watch video all the time and do workshops for many vibe players around the world now. That's cool because that was my goal. A selfish goal but one with some giving in it as well!

Here's the good news. I see so many guys get better and better on this instrument. It's amazing. I know it's very possible to do this. I know you can be an adult and get back to this instrument or switch instruments or even start brand new and get it together. I've seen too many examples now of this being a reality.

So I just wanted to pass that on. I think a lot of stuff like this and think it's too corny to post, but you know a lot of you guys are really working hard at this instrument. I think the part that becomes difficult is the amount of time it takes to get there. And the amount of consistent time it takes.

I'm so glad it's not easy to do this, or that it hasn't become easy to do this. Mainly because I've worked so hard at it. You guys are also going to have to bust your asses on this. But if you do, you'll play and you can have fun on the instrument.

And what's cool is I think we're creating a growing group of vibe players. The more players that play this instrument the better it is for all of us. Everyone will take notice of that. Instrument makers, stick makers, clubs, and other musicians. So I get excited about all this. I just did workshops in 3 different countries and talked to a bunch of vibe players. It was cool to see all this interest.

So I hope one way or another you guys stick with the vibes and keep at it. I think in a small way we're changing the world a little bit!! IMHO

I know when I get my practicing in I go around much happier. And just that can have an impact on 'the world'.

So the moral of the story is 'Keep practicing the vibes because it makes you happy and that makes the world a better place'. :-)

Thanks to the site I have made friends with people from around the world, some have visited me and stayed at my home, I have visited others in their countries, and I feel very fortunate and blessed to know so many inspiring people. And thanks to all YOU guys and gals in vibeland, I feel like I am finally starting to get somewhere with this instrument. That's down to the folk that organise the workshops; the professional players that pass on their teaching and tips; everyone that attends the workshops and contribute to the online discussions and share their knowledge and experience; and of course Tony, Marie-Noelle and everyone involved in running the site. It's a beautiful thing! Thanks everyone!

Now, back to the practice room, I have work to do. Yay.

Tony, you are neither corny nor selfish, the so-called selfish intention, caused you to help others find joy...it is by giving that we find joy! That's just your nature I suppose.

OK. I'm up for it. Chords, arpeggio-runs, scales, then on to the TOTM. Not sure how the world will be a better place for it, but I'll take the teacher's word for it.
